Founded in 2014, Bethany Joy Costumes, Inc. prides itself on attention to detail, custom fit, and the subtleties of design, while adding the unique and personal touch that only skilled craftsman and theatre artisans can give.

HISTORY
Bethany Itterly, also known as Bethany Joy is originally from North Carolina and received a BFA from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, UNCSA. While in school she spent her summers working at summer stocks across the country like the Santa Fe Opera and Bard Summerscape increasing her skill level and understanding of the industry outside of an educational setting. She moved to NYC in 2011 working alongside other professionals in various NYC costume shops continuing her experience and expertise in the craft. In 2014, she went out on her own and started Bethany Joy Costumes, Inc. “I was drawn toward the collaboration between client and maker and decided to open my own shop. I also wanted to create a calm and collaborative working atmosphere that not only my clients but employees would gravity towards and encourage us all to do the best work we possibly can.” Lead by Bethany, Bethany Joy Costumes, Inc. work can be seen on Broadway to Regional theater stages across the country, with world-renown Dance and Opera companies, Custom made clothing for Opera singers who have graced stages like Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, Live Arena Tours Madonna and Janet Jackson, TV Shows, Movies and more!
